Lyrics: John Perry Barlow
Music: Jill and Bill Nershi
Performed for the first time by String Cheese Incident on 21 May 2005, though Bill Nershi had performed it himself some times before then. He introduced it:
"We're gonna do one that we haven't played before. Until now. This is the first time for this tune. It's a tune that I wrote with my wife Gillian and John Perry Barlow, who wrote with Bobby for all those years. And he came up to the house and hung out for a few days, and he wrote like three tunes. This is one of those tunes that we wrote with him. And this one's called Crazy Angel."Lyrics:
Saw you standing by the road
You were riding your thumb to Denver
A pretty girl's never really broke
Somehow you managed to get there
I pulled over and picked you up
You smiled and you had me right there
You'd already broke my heart
Before we were clear of Cheyenne
Crazy angel
You're the light that showed the light to me
Crazy angel
You burned me with desire from hell to Tennessee
Strolling down I-25 that day
Behaving myself like I should be
I saw your eyes and I turned away
All of the maybe's that could be
I asked you where and you said drive
Was a mighty fine way to begin
I knew that route wouldn't see that car
Anytime likely again
Crazy angel
You're the light that showed the light to me
Crazy angel
You burned me with desire from hell to Tennessee
Crazy as you when let out to the country
So crazy and we did light the stars
Crazy as you made me, I'd love to see you down
With a crazy angel's back down people's hearts
Foot to the floor, we were picking up speed
Man, we were really flying
I remember your [?] in the Kansas breeze
That [?] bright lights, the squad car behind us
Were you running toward or were you running from
Well you may be not running at all
I can't believe I was the only one
Who's ever set up for a fall
Crazy angel
You're the light that showed the light to me
Crazy angel
You burned me with desire from hell to Tennessee
Crazy angel
Crazy angel
Crazy angel, you burned me with desire
