Lyrics: Bo Diddley
Music: Bo Diddley
This was played when the Grateful Dead backed Bo Diddley on 25 March 1972.
They played it essentially an instrumental, with Bo Diddley improvising to the
tune (hence the title on most setlists as "Wo Wow Hey Hey"). But Eric Levy has
tracked it down as the song "You Know I Love You So."
The 'lyrics' sung with the Grateful Dead were:
Wo, oh oh oh ohThe lyrics to Bo Diddley's recorded version are:
Wo-oh, hey hey
Why, why, oh-oh
Wo-oh, hey hey hey
Wo-oh, hey-eh-hey
Oh ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Hey hey hey
Wo, hey hey hey
Wo-oh, hey hey hey, hey
Wo-oh-oh-oh-oh-ah
Hey, hey, hey-hey-yeah-yeah
You know that I love you so
Baby I'll never let, I'll never let you go
You are, you are my only desire
Your sweet little kisses, baby they set me on fire
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-ah
Yeah-ah
Yeah, yeah, yeah-ah
Yeah, yeah, yeah-ah
Some people say, yes, that love is strange
But I wonder why they take it for a game
Yeah, they take it for a game
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Wow
